Successfully Treating Psoriasis & Scars With Natural Skin Care Products

Many of us may suffer from a variety of skin conditions at any point in our lives. Some of these conditions may be acute for some people, but for others, they may be chronic. Some of the conditions that essential oils have been used to treat are boils, warts, scars, eczema, dermatitis, and dry skin. The health of our skin is determined by a number of factors such as genetics, nutrition, smoking, drinking, and our skin tone, and type. If a person has fair skin, they’ll be more prone to burn when exposed to the sun. Those people that have darker skin will be better able to withstand the sun since their skin contains more of a pigment called melanin.

Some people may suffer from dry skin, myself included. This condition can occur during certain seasons, like wintertime, but for others it can be a chronic daily condition. The use of natural skin care products that contain essential oils is beneficial for treating xerosis. Those people that have a chronic condition will have to administer their treatment for a longer time period than those who suffer from this problem seasonally. Many people who frequent health clubs may go into a sauna or Jacuzzi after a good workout. These therapeutic facilities exude high levels of heat, and should be avoided by those who have dry skin. Instead, you can take a lukewarm or cool shower after exercising. But nevertheless, afterwards, massage your body with a mixture of different essential oils. One recipe that I’ve used is to combine three drops of geranium, five drops of jasmine, and four drops of chamomile, with three drops of ylang ylang. Additionally, you’ll need to mix that combination together with calendula oil, since it’s soothing for dry skin. 2 tablespoons of a carrier oil, such as almond or grape seed oil, should also be added to this formula, along with a natural preservative such as grapefruit seed extract. After you have added all the ingredients, shake the formula well so that it can be thoroughly mixed.

One additional beneficial detail related to this matter. Many of us, will develop a scar after having an open wound or following surgery. If the scar is on our arms or legs, we can conceal that area easily with our clothes. If you have a facial scar, it can be concealed with makeup or you can consider having collagen or dermabrasion treatments. A natural approach in treating scars is to use essential oils. These oils are effective in treating scars since they treat infection and inflammation, and can prevent the development of scars. The amount of scar tissue that can result from a wound depends on how quickly one can address the severity of their injury. Some essential oils that can be used to treat wound infections are chamomile, tea tree oil, lemon oil, and lavender. Once a wound is closed, it’s now necessary to help prevent it from scarring. One anti-scarring formula that I’ve used includes the following essential oils: fifteen drops of lavender, six drops of juniper, five drops of eucalyptus, and six drops of frankincense oil. That being said, add one tablespoon each of calendula, and olive oil, half a teaspoon of wheat germ oil, and a quarter of a teaspoon of carrot seed oil. Also, I’ve added six hundred IU of Vitamin E along with 10,000 IU of mycelized Vitamin A to this formula, since these nutrients help fight infection. This formula should be applied only to closed wounds, at least 2 to 3 times a day. Additionally, it may be necessary to repeat this treatment for several weeks in order to experience favorable results. As in any medical condition, please consult with your physician first before using this or any other treatment.

Many people can develop a skin condition called boils. This condition can be caused by bacteria, ingrown hair, or acne. People that have weakened immune systems are more susceptible to have this condition, and could consider adding certain vitamins, minerals, and herbs to their daily diet. Certain herbs, such as echinacea, goldenseal, lomatia, and osha, are antibiotic, and can help in fighting infection. Herbs such as astragalus, and the medicinal mushrooms shiitake and maiitake, are effective at improving the function of our immune system. These natural compounds when taken orally have been found to help increase the number of our B, T, and natural killer cells. Many physicians have also used antibiotics for treating boils since they’re effective at treating bacterial infections.

Natural skin care products that contain essential oils have been used to treat boils with good success. One way that they can be used is to add them to hot compresses in order to bring out the infection. Some essential oils that are helpful in treating this condition are chamomile, tea tree oil, lemon, eucalyptus, and geranium. The only oils that are recommended for open wounds are lavender, and tea tree oil. Once a wound closes, a scar will form, and you can apply oils such as frankincense, juniper, and bergamot. Since hygiene is a factor in the prevention of boils, keeping your hands and body clean by using a natural botanical wash is very important. Additionally, you should consider covering the open boil with a bandage, so that the infection won’t spread to another part of your body.

It’s important when purchasing essential oils to select those that are grown organically. Non organic oils are sprayed with pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. These chemical sprays have been found to cause allergic skin reactions for some people. On the other hand, these toxic chemicals will penetrate our skin, enter our blood stream and accumulate in our organs. Some pesticides, such as alar and DDT, have been banned by the FDA because of the health consequences associated with their use. Other chemicals that are now sprayed on botanical plants may also cause skin and health problems, and shouldn’t be used. The use of essential oils derived from organically grown botanical plants is safer for us to use, and possess better healing qualities than non organic products.
